Cykelbana Moskva – St Petersburg byggnation startar

I juli 2021 började byggandet av den första delen av den 1200 kilometer långa Moskva-St. Petersburg cykelväg.

Initiativet kommer från offentligt projekt Låt oss cykla! (Let’s bike it!)

Aktivister från projektet har arbetat på denna väg i sina cykelklubbar i mer än tio år. Redan i det skedet var uppgiften att maximera separationen av bil- och cykelflöden. Och samtidigt bana en väg genom pittoreska platser med intressanta sevärdheter.

Förutom huvudvägen planeras grenar: vid Seliger Lake – runt sjön kommer det också att finnas en gren vid Valdai Lake, till Valdai nationalpark.

Ytterligare platser för mat och logi skapas på rutten.

Markiser konsrueras under vilka cyklisten kan gömma sig från regnet. Var 10-15 kilometer bör det finnas platser, konventionellt – lusthus med en trevlig utsikt, där man kan sitta ner och ta ett mellanmål i komfort.

Och det bör finnas tjänster för cyklister på järnvägsstationer. Börjar från parkeringsplatser och slutar med cykeluthyrning. Så att en person kan komma utan cykel alls, hyra den på stationen och åka längs vägen.

Järnvägsstationer kommer också att förbättras så att människor kan cykla till exempel från Moskva med tåg och sedan resa i naturen längs någon del av denna rutt i två eller tre dagar.

Huvuduppgiften för ruttutveckling är att skapa en säker trafikmiljö för cyklister. Först och främst utarbetas det så att bilister och cyklister inte korsar var de är osäkra.

Den första etappen närliggande Moskva öppnar redan nästa år.
