             World grain forum 1

The First in the history the World Grain Forum was held on June 6-7, 2009 in St. Petersburg on the initiative of the Russian President. It was attended by 1,900 participants from 62 countries, including 53 official foreign delegations, 17 of which were headed by the Ministers of Agriculture, 4 heads of international organizations, representatives of financial institutions, national and international associations of agricultural producers. 11 official bilateral meetings with the foreign agrarian ministers and heads of international organizations were held within the Forum.
Main objectives of the upcoming Forum:
– Strengthening the positive image of Russia on the international stage as the largest producer and exporter of grain;
– Positioning of the Eurasian Economic Union as a new player on the world grain market;
– Maintaining a sustainable infrastructure of the world grain market during the recession;
– Promotion of “global best practices“ of innovation and technological modernization of the industry;
– Increasing the investment attractiveness of the Russian agri-food sector.

Platon Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system was introduced to facilitate and process the collection of toll charges offsetting the damage caused to Russian Federal Highways by vehicles exceeding 12 tons of gross vehicle weight (HGV N3 sub-category).

The Organizing Committee has approved the keynote topic and highlights of the business programme for the 20th anniversary St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The motto for SPIEF 2016, which will take place on June 16–18, is “Capitalizing on the New Global Economic Reality”. The discussion will cover five main topics:
• Stimulating Demand, Seeking Growth
• Realizing the Economic Potential of Russia
• The New Geo-economic Dynamics
• Navigating Revolutions in Technology
• The Human Dimension

The SPIEF programme includes a SCO Business Forum and a G20 Business Forum. Within the scope of the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the tradition will continue of holding the Global Energy Awards Ceremony and the Energy Summit, in which heads of global fuel and energy majors will take part. In addition, there are plans for a special session of the Valdai Club and events of the Conversations with the Extraordinary cycle. For the first time, on the sidelines of the Forum, the first Conference for the Sustainable Development of the Arctic will be held. The discussions will be held in traditional forum formats such as workshops, roundtables, business breakfasts and TV debates.

Day zero of the SPIEF will feature the second Russian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Forum. The first Conference for the Sustainable Development of the Arctic is scheduled to take place on the Forum’s sidelines.

More than 200 leading experts from Russia, Europe, the US, Asia and Australia participated in developing the Forum programme. As Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov notes in this connection, “the Forum platform is open to all participants without exception. As in previous years, we intend to have a constructive dialogue with all interested parties. I am convinced that the Forum programme will fully demonstrate this”.

SPIEF 2016 DRAFT PROGRAMME ARCHITECTURE (JUNE 16–18, 2016)

April 6, 2016 ‪Russian‬ ‪Trade‬ Representation in ‪Sweden‬ organized and held business mission of representatives of the Russian company LLC “TD ‪Cedrus‬” (www.ced-rus.com) – producer and supplier of a wide range of construction materials.
Main objectives of the business mission are to implement business contacts, promote Russian construction materials in Sweden as well as conduct business negotiations.
Russian Trade Representation in Sweden together with representatives of the Russian company took an active part in the largest construction exhibition in Scandinavia ‪Nordbygg ‬(www.nordbygg.se/), which attracts over 60 000 visitors, about 800 companies from more than 30 countries. The exhibition is held once in two years.
Visiting the exhibition has become an effective platform to study the market possibilities of building materials in Sweden, including assortment, main competitors, and retail sales prices. It also served as a good possibility to assess perspectives of Russian products in Swedish market. A number of productive dialogues took place during the exhibition.
As the result of the business mission LLC “TD ‪‎Cedrus‬” intends, together with Russian Trade Representation in Sweden, continue working on the promotion of its products in Sweden.
